Hi Gang!

Hope you had a great Halloween! If you observe Dia de los Muertos or All Souls' Day, we wish you peaceful communion with your family spirits. We'll be thinking of Bob and Brett, both of whom the Iliad lost this year.

We will be closed on Thursday, November 24 in observance of Thanksgiving. We hope you celebrate in style with your family and friends.

Dan, Lisa, Poul, Eric, and Sean (and Zeus and Apollo)

WHAT'S IN THE SAFE?
Have you ever noticed the big safe full of books behind Iliad's front counter? We get asked about it frequently. "Is it really old?" is a common question (the answer: no, we bought it new just a few years ago). But most customers want to know what kind of books merit storage in a safe (we think of these as the rarest of our rare books), so in this column we'll pick one book every month and tell you about it. This month's book is...
Dark Testament and Other Poems by Pauli Murray. This is the very scarce hardback first edition of the author's only book of poetry, published by Silvermine Publishers in 1970. Condition is very good in very good jacket: the jacket has light sunning and edge wear, and is price-clipped; corners and spine ends are slightly bumped, very light soiling to front free endpaper. $1,000

ZEUS AND APOLLO
Here's a blast from the past: Zeus and Apollo in October 2014, when they were still just a few months old, wrasslin' on the couch.
We'd love to include your photos in our newsletter! Feel free to send to info@iliadbooks.com , let us know that it's okay to use the photo, and we'll include it in a future newsletter.
