Books on Books: The Forgotten Section at Iliad

With over 125,000 books on our shelves at the Iliad Bookshop (and more coming in every day) we often have trouble finding the best locations for our book sections. Mostly we are able to put like sections next to each other: Astronomy next to Science, Animation next to Cartoons and Science Fiction/Mysteries next to Literature. But sometimes section are kind of isolated. One such section is Books on Books.

This section has a wider range of topics than you might think. There are books written specifically on reading, the book industry and book collecting, but there are also book guides, book binding, types of literature, literary criticism, book design, pulps and (my favorite) illuminated manuscripts. In fact, our Books on Books section has an amazing variety of subjects. I’m always stopping by to see what’s new.

Unfortunately, the Books on Books section is not located in the most obvious place. It’s kind of stuck just before our large Literature section and just opposite the start of our small paperback section. There’s no sign like we have for other sections and the section is quite stuffed so, at times, it can be hard to see what’s there.

I thought I’d share a small selection of titles from the Books on Books section so as to whet your appetite and move you to try the section the next time you are at the Iliad Bookshop.
